We wanted to do something a little different for this collection's project and when Sally suggested designing a throw instead of a quilt I knew it was the perfect idea. Measuring 48" x 48", this throw looks stunning on a sofa or chair and even better in a sewing room. Being smaller than a regular quilt, this would be the perfect handmade project to gift a friend who loves sewing or crafting.
The throw is made up of four different blocks featuring hearts, cotton reels, spools and sewing baskets. Sally has used the purples, pinks and creams from my 'Memory Made' collection to create a pretty, delicate design. The pale background blender fabric showcases the design without dominating it. 'Nostalgic Notions in Light Slate Grey' binds the whole design together. You could also use a plain white or ivory instead to create a similar effect. This design encapsulates my Grandmothers sewing box perfectly and I know both my Granny and Grandma would've loved this.
